These pentagonal predrilled 5-arm PVC connectors for ½ inch pipe are injection molded with a 10 degree inward curvature. Each arm has exactly one inch of sleeve room for the inserted pipe, and a bolt hole is predrilled 1/2" from the end of each arm.
The center is solid PVC, so you can screw your cover into it from the top or bottom, depending on what kind of cover you choose. Although each arm has been designed to resist over 100 pounds of angular force, domes built using these hubs are not for climbing.
Be sure that if you use a strut-length calculator that you deduct 2.28 inches from the centerpoint-to-centerpoint lengths, otherwise your pipes will be too long.
